A Tribute to Auntie Francisca Jacinto Tapat We always feel excited when our auntie and uncle come home to the Philippines. Their arrival brings a chance to visit their hometown in Ilocos Sur, making every reunion truly special for both sides of the family. I remember how some of our late uncle’s relatives would come by their house to sell different kinds of fish—many of which were new to me. Every time they’re home, there’s always a special party held in Solotsot for the balikbayans. The barangay hall comes alive with dancing, laughter, and celebration. It’s a beautiful gathering that brings the community together. What I love most is the sense of love and generosity that fills the air. Everyone receives pasalubong, and Uncle Ernie never fails to share beers and drinks with everyone. Food is never a problem—what matters most to them is spending time with us. Auntie Francing never failed to support Uncle’s decisions, always standing by him with grace and strength. I also fondly recall our visit in 2020. They gave us a tour of local tourist spots like the Bantayan Watch Tower and Sabang Beach. We even had a boodle fight for lunch, which made the experience even more memorable. These moments remind me of how deeply rooted our family ties are, and how every homecoming becomes a celebration of love, culture, and togetherness. Auntie, thank you for showing us love without boundaries. Thank you for all the extended help and care you gave us. Your kindness and generosity touched our hearts in so many ways. You were a quiet strength in our lives, always giving without asking for anything in return. You made every gathering warmer, every meal more joyful, and every moment more meaningful. We’ll always cherish the memories we made with you—the laughter, the stories, the hugs, and the love. You were more than just an aunt; you were a second mother, a guiding light, and a source of comfort. May you rest in peace, Auntie Francisca Jacinto Tapat. We love you so much. Your legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever. 💔🙏
