Gary Zarlow Obituary
Gary I. Zarlow, a man of courage, intelligence, and thoughtfulness, passed away at the age of 80 on December 5, 2023, in Green Valley, Arizona. Born in Los Angeles, California to his loving parents, Ben and Marian Zarlow. Gary's zest for life and dedication to his family and career left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Boerner-Zarlow, his daughters Tamera and Cheryl Zarlow and brother, Richard Zarlow, and sister-in-law, Evelyn of California. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Arthur Boerner, and sister-in-law, Joan Dilwith-Boerner both living in Colorado with nephews, Micah and Jon Ceda, and niece, Jodie Meguro.
Gary's professional life for over twenty years as an Electronics Technology Technician in Computer Systems in which he exceled. Later a successful entrepreneur in the Telecommunications field was a source of pride in ownership and using all of your skills. His career and his work was not just a job but a calling, and he approached every challenge with the same courage and thoughtfulness he applied to every aspect of his life.
He was an avid lover of the great outdoors, fishing, hunting, motorhome travel, yardwork, international travel, and motorcycle rides. He would have enjoyed more but said, "I am grateful for what we have been able to accomplish at this age and life was good". In reflecting on Gary's life, the words of Helen Keller resonate deeply: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Gary's free spirit and the love he shared with those around him have indeed become a part of us all.
As we bid farewell to Gary I. Zarlow, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. He was a man who made every moment count and every relationship matter. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit remains a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gary was laid to rest at Mililani Memorial Park in Waipio, Oahu, Hawaii on December 16, 2023 with family and friends present. Family requested that if you would like to donate to a charity of your choosing it would be appreciated.
