Gerald "Gerry" Gipaya
The Kamikawas,Hello Dottie, Mel & Wade. My name is Gerald Gipaya, aka “Gerryâ€. Don’t know if you remember me but, I used to work with George at Hickam AFB, Aircraft Hydraulic shop. When first meeting George on or about August 1978, he struck me as a very nice man and a top notch in the aircraft maintenance field. Upon meeting George I knew he had something very special to offer me, some of that maintenance know-how. He taught me the do’s and don’ts and a multitude of technical skills, in-other words, he taught me a whole hell-of-a-lot and I’m forever indebted to him. I often think of George even as I left the shop in 1992. He’s teachings allowed me the advancement up the chain to maintenance supervisor. I’m very proud to have known and learned from the “BEST†and hope he found that also in me, too. Those were definitely good times. Well, I thought I’d reflect on our moments together.May God Bless George and you all.Friends Forever,Gerry and Kazuko Gipaya.P.S. How’s our Valevictorian/Pharmacist doing? Fine I hope. Yes, George was very, very proud of son’s and Mel’s achievements and I’m sure mom, too!
