On April 20, 2024, heaven reclaimed one of its most beautiful souls, George J. Miller, Jr, age 55, who died unexpectedly at his home in Oahu, HI.
George is survived by his loving partner, Felina Ambrocio; his parents, Patricia Martens Balke and George Miller, Sr.; siblings Niki (Tom) Stilwell and Jeffrey Miller; half-siblings, Montana (Anthony) Bret and Grant and Zane Miller; step-siblings Greg (Francine) Balke and Suzy Balke; two nephews Kyle Stilwell and Sasha Balke; two nieces Danika, and Natalie Stilwell; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
George graduated from DeSmet High School in 1987 and Maryville College in 1991. After graduation from Maryville, he moved to Oahu, HI making it his permanent home.
George's life was marked by his compassion and kindness towards others. His friends remember him as sweet, kind, gentle, and selfless. His dedication to helping others guided him to a career as a CNA, where he impacted many lives. His love of research led him to become a Paralegal.
George's love for the laid-back island life was evident in his hobbies and interests. He immersed himself in studying Japanese and Hawaiian culture, customs, and history, always eager to learn more. He was passionate about martial arts and practiced Takenouchi-ryu (jujutsu) and Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu (iai/sword) for twenty years. His detailed notebooks continue to inspire new students today.
George was a faithful St. Louis Blues fan. He enjoyed scuba diving, walks on the beach, watching old movies, and attending family parties with Fely. He also liked listening to music (IZ to Ozzie Osborn) and hanging with his favorite canine, Nabi. He was an avid collector of Snoopy memorabilia.
George bartended for many years, and drawing on that experience, he authored Mix14U, published in 2024.
George’s life will be celebrated on June 15, 2024, at the Catholic Student Center -Washington University, 6352 Forsyth Blvd St. Louis, MO, at 11:00 am. Free parking is available at the Danforth Garage across the street. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Association (heart.org). George will be buried in Oahu, HI, the island he loved, on June 27, 2024. Mahalo George, with much Aloha.
