Gerardo "Gerry" Aquino Dulatre's Obituary
Gerardo “Gerry” Aquino Dulatre of Ewa Beach, passed away at the age of 80 on August 31, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, and compadre.
Born in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines on June 27, 1945, Gerry was the third-oldest of twelve children. He grew up with a musical passion and sang with the Luzon College Orchestra for 6 years, often performing alongside his late father, Don Dulatre, a talented trombonist, trumpeter, and saxophonist.
After moving to Hawaii in 1980, Gerry dedicated over three decades to his work in Ground Maintenance at Waikiki Banyan where he met his loving wife, Maria Estrella. He also worked part time as a Security Guard at Bowl-o-Drome and as a Parking Attendant at Varsity Theater.
Gerry was soft-spoken, caring, and a generous soul that was always willing to lend a hand. He was family oriented and loved the company of others, especially friends and family. He enjoyed target practice at Koko Head Shooting Range, fishing, roasting lechon as a side hustle, and singing karaoke during family gatherings.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria Estrella; his children, Marissa, Krystle, and Mark Ian; his faithful furry companion, Kennedy; and his siblings, Regina, Isidro, Virginia, Francisco, Apolonio, Samuel, Josephine, Gloria, and Estrella.
Gerry will be remembered for his warm hello’s, genuine smile, and his kind heart. He will be missed immensely and will be loved always. May his sweet soul rest in peace.
