Gladys Roberta Kema's Obituary
Gladys Roberta Kema was born May 17, 1944, and passed away April 18, 2026. She was the child of Robert and Mary Kuapahi. She was the youngest daughter of 7 siblings. All were born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Gladys and Douglas were sweethearts since high school. They married and had four children: a daughter, Mona (Jerry) Iwanaka, and three sons, Carlos (Johnna), Robert (deceased), and Douglas Jr. (Shawnelle), as well as seven grandsons and two granddaughters. She worked as an accountant at Pacific Pipe, a family-run business, where she eventually retired.
During her retirement, Gladys enjoyed traveling to visit family members she hadn’t seen in years. She was a caring and loving woman, making anyone who was around her feel at home. Her warm smile and compassionate nature inspired those around her. Memories last a lifetime, but love is eternal. Rest in peace, our beautiful Mom.
Services will be held at Mililani Memorial Park, Makai Chapel, on Friday, June 12, 2026. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mililani Memorial Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. The family of the late Gladys R. Kema would like to thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers, which make this day a true celebration of her life.
