Gloria A. "Tiqui" Cabbab's Obituary
Gloriana A. "Tiqui" Cabbab, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1940, in South Hilo, Hawaii.
Following the devastating tsunami of the 1940s, her mother, Josephine, relocated the family to Waipahu, where Gloriana spent her childhood. In Waipahu, Josephine met Fermin Tiqui Sr., who lovingly adopted Gloriana and her siblings, providing the foundation of the family she
cherished so deeply.
Gloriana was a proud graduate of Waipahu High School. After marrying and raising her six children, she moved to Kodiak, Alaska, where she built a life rooted in hard work, resilience, and community. She worked for many years at the King Crab Cannery before becoming a cook at the Small World Infant & Toddler Center, where she shared her warmth, humor, and generosity with the families she served.
She is survived by her brother, Fermin "Tony" T iqui Jr., and her sister, Veronica "Ronnie" Tiqui. She leaves behind her beloved children: Rose (Mark) Nelson, Gloriana "Toya" (Raydell) Flores, Antonio "Sonny" Basuel, Raymundo "Mundo" (Jessica) Basuel, Michelle (Scott) McKendrick, and Juan "Dadz" (Kris) Cabbab II. Gloriana's legacy also lives on through her 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom she
adored and who will forever carry her spirit forward.
Gloriana will be remembered for her strength, humor, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to guide the many lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on December 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel.
Burial will be held on December 19th at 10:30am.
