1924 - 2024
Grace Chun Au, age 99, of Wahiawa, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024, after a long illness. She was the fifth of 13 children born to Chun Dai Nam and Lin Ing Luke, Hawaii's 1962 Mother of the Year.
Grace is survived by her devoted husband, Edwin Au, and their children: Wendell (Jerri), Alesia, Daniel, and James. She was a proud grandmother to Kelsey and Gavin and is also survived by two of her siblings.
Retired from the Federal Government where she worked in the USA Health Clinic as the Notary Public for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, the U.S. Engineers at Waikakalaua Gulch, and during World War II with the War Department. In addition, she contributed her skills at the Hawaiian Pineapple Company, Pacific Investment Company, the YMCA, and Maluhia Hospital.
Grace was deeply involved in her community as an active member of Mililani Baptist Church, the Wahiawa General Hospital Auxiliary, and the Au In Kwai Social Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2024, at Mililani Mortuary Makai. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
