Grace Tomiko Horiuchi, 86, of Mililani, Hawaii, peacefully passed away at home on May 2, 2024. She was born on July 6, 1937 on Molokai to Kenzo and Teruko Furukawa. She is survived by her sister Lily Young; sons Jonathan (Alice Kee) and David Horiuchi; daughters Susan Nakata (Calvin) and Anne Horiuchi; four grandchildren: Kira and Stephen Horiuchi, Nataley Nakata and Thomas Bell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Herbert; brothers Tatsuo, Henry, George and Joseph Furukawa, and sister Mary Maruyama.
She graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute in 1955 and enjoyed lifetime friendships with many of her classmates. Known as “Aunty Grace,” she provided day care to 22 children over 19 years during the 70’s to the early 90’s. She was also a long-time member of Mililani Presbyterian Church.
Private burial at Mililani Memorial Park. Memorial service for later 2024 will be announced.
