Guillermo Butac Gaspar
Feb 11, 1945-Jan 21, 2021
Guillermo Gaspar, 76 of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021 at Pali Momi Hospital.
He was born in Lanao, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He arrived in Hawaii in 1970 and worked at Oahu Sugar Company for 25 years, Pearl Highlands Center for 7 years, and Pohai Nani for 5 years.
As a family man Guillermo was a devoted husband to Eloisa Gaspar for 49 years. He taught his family the value of consistent hard work, quietly expressed his love by always being there to help, with the ability to make everyone laugh even in the most difficult situations. Even after being diagnosed with cancer in 2009, we were blessed to have him for another 11 years after he successfully completed radiation. He continued to be the comedian, handyman, teacher, and everything to his family.
After retiring, Guillermo enjoyed his time gardening, helping his grandson with school projects, playing with his granddaughters, and meeting with friends for coffee. He also enjoyed playing guitar and piano, working on home improvement projects, and relaxing out on the lanai.
He is survived by spouse, Eloisa Galacgac Gaspar, sons Rommel Gaspar (Rowella), James Gaspar, daughter Alice Gaspar Soriano (Warren), and sister Conchita Gaspar Fiesta (Rodolfo) and 3 grandchildren: Byron Soriano (Alice), Mikayla and Malia Gaspar (Rommel).
He had one nephew (Ronald Fiesta) and 3 nieces (Rosemarie Kim, Cheryl Dewitt, and Jeannie Fujimoto).
