Guillermo "Jimmy" Lobo Lamug's Obituary
GUILLERMO “JIMMY” LOBO LAMUG, 77, of Hawai‘i Kai, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2025.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, and friend.
Born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on January 11, 1948, Jimmy immigrated to Hawai‘i in 1970 and built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work with his wife of 54 years, Purita Arcangel Lamug. Together they operated a successful landscaping business that catered to professionals, entrepreneurs, and well-known public figures. Jimmy was known for his generosity, strong work ethic, and spirit of service.
Inspired by Filipino organizations he encountered through his daughter Lori’s Miss Oahu Filipina reign in 2001 — and by reconnecting with his best friend from his school days at the Ilocos Norte College of Arts & Trades, the late Larry Ramirez — Jimmy helped establish the Navotas-Cataban Association of Hawai‘i, alongside his wife Purita and other fellow founders. Through scholarships and community projects, this organization uplifts communities in the Philippines — a lasting reflection of his compassion and service.
Jimmy is survived by wife Purita; children Randy (Genie) Arcangel, Edgar Lamug, and Lori (Addison) Lamug Bonner; grandchildren Michael (Joley), Krystyn (Zohn), Gabrielle, Jackson, and Cole; and great-grandson Grayson.
