Gwendolyn Aurora Silva's Obituary
Gwendolyn Silva Obituary
Gwendolyn Aurora Villanueva Silva passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 86. She was Born on February 28th, 1937 to Charles & Berhimina Villanueva in Hilo, Hawaii, and moved to Oahu, where she grew up in Nanakuli, attended Nanaikapono School, and graduated from Farrington Highschool. She was a Wonderful Wife, Loving Mother, and Grandmother to over 30 grandchildren (4 generations), A Sister to 12 siblings, an Aunt, a Cousin, a Godmother, and a Friend to many.
Anyone who knew Mom was the most vibrant, patient, personable, kind, loving, selfless, and giving person one could ever know. Mom was known by both family and friends for her famous Pistachio Cake (aka crack cake - lol) and shortbread cookies from her days working at St. Joseph School in Waipahu. Mom's smile, laughter, advice, and constant love will be missed. She loved her family very much and was always there. While we miss Mom’s smile, her voice, and her laugh, knowing Mom, she wouldn’t want us to be sad, but to take joy in that she is with God and loved ones who have passed and to know that she will be with us and look after us every day.
She is survived by her husband, Harry (married 52 years), and her two sisters, Audrey Asato, and Pat Tyner, sons, Juan Jr. (Jon), Baylen, and Chad Limasa, daughters, Lorie Limasa, and Harilyn Dumancas-Kong, along with her many grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm; and service starts 6:30 pm.
