Our beloved HANS ERICH ‘A’ALAKAPUA PERKINS of Hauula relocated to heaven on July 28, 2024. Hans will always be remembered and loved by his ‘Ohana and dear friends. While his departure has left an irreplaceable void, we celebrate his 63 years of life on earth and more importantly we celebrate knowing that Hans loved our Lord Jesus Christ and that he is with God and our loved ones in heaven. Hans’ love, spirit, courage, and humility remains with us.
Hans’ wife is Glenda (Suan) Blas-Perkins, originally from Hale’iwa, Hawaii. His children are Malia and Daniel Mossman of Waianae and Corey and Jarren Kaiahua-Fleming of Hau’ula. Hans’ grandchildren (the loves of his life) are Amberly, Jaxon, and Ezekiel. Hans’ sister and husband are Barbara “Bobbie” and Reggie Kamanu of Kurtistown, Big Island. Hans’ parents are Peter & Ann (Orschler) Perkins of Hauula and Neri & Juliette (Suan) Blasof Haleiwa.
Hans was born on August 3, 1960 in Honolulu and grew up in Punalu’u and Hau’ula. He attended Ma’ema’e Elementary, Hau’ula Elementary, and St. Anns Catholic School in Kaneohe. Hans graduated in 1979 from Damien Memorial High School and enjoyed playing football.
Hans proudly served our country and retired after 27 years on active duty for the United States Army, in the Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard.
He attended DeVry University in Arizona and was stationed in Texas before moving back home to Hawaii.
Before he retired, Hans was employed by Amerisource Bergen, Kualoa Ranch and Armstrong Produce.
The Perkins ‘Ohana will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sat., October 5 at O’ahu Veterans Hall at 1298 Kukila Street in Foster Village, Honolulu. 5:00 pm. Visitation with the ‘Ohana 5:45 pm. Celebration of Life Dinner and fellowship to follow.
