My dad Harold Villanueva was my protector and provider. He made sure there was always food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our heads. He thought me that if someone does not help carry burdens, then their words about do not matter.
He showed his love through action-taking me fishing, and bringing us to the outer islands to visit family, and always stepping in when I needed help. He provided not only for me, but for my children, even in the present day.
Though he could be complicated at times, he loved deeply and protected fiercely. Over the years we grew close, and losing him has been the greatest heartbreak of my life. I miss him and love him more than words can say.
He was the best dad God could have blessed me with, and he will be truly missed.
