Harry Maun Soo Lee's Obituary
Harry M Lee, 98 years old, passed away September 30, 2025 peacefully at The Plaza in Mililani.
He is survived by 5 children, David (DeeAnn) Lee, Nelson (Song) Lee, Lauralee Kawamata, Dexter Lee and Albert Lee. Sister Linda Dang, Sister in laws Molly Lee and Young Ja Lee. He has 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews from 6 siblings of the Wahiawa Lee clan.
Harry was born and raised in Wahiawa. He graduated from Leilehua High School in 1945 and was drafted into the Army as Infantry Man just as World War 2 ended. He was discharged honorably in 1946. Using the GI Bill, obtained his Bachelors Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineer at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1953. He began working as an engineer with the Department of Defense at Hickam Air Force Base. Harry met and married his wife Kikue Yamanaka from Kauai in 1955. They were happily married for 69 years.
Harry obtained his Real Estate License from the State of Hawaii in 1972, he worked in real estate as a side job. He retired from Federal DOD job after 25 years and went on to work for the State of Hawaii and City and County until retiring for good in 1991, to become a full time baby sitter to his grandchildren. Even towards the end of his days he would share his food with those around him. He was a gentleman who cared for others and was strong and dependable. He is greatly missed, but his legacy will continue for generations to come.
