HATTIE C. RODRIGUES Obituary
Hattie C. Rodrigues, a beloved and spirited woman cherished by all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2022. Born on May 3, 1932, in Hawaii, she was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Mary Rodrigues and loving sister to five brothers.
Hattie's life was a testament to love, care, and independence. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to caring for her parents in their later years, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Her boundless love for her family knew no bounds, and she insisted on personally tending to her parents' needs, embodying the essence of filial devotion.
Her dedication extended beyond her family, as she served as a beacon of light within her community. In the 1980s, she managed over fifty altar boys at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Salt Lake, Hawaii, where her devout faith in Catholicism shone brightly. Hattie's vibrant spirit also found expression in her involvement with managing Pop Warner football cheerleaders and Bobby Sox girls softball teams. Her love for an active lifestyle led her to embrace Jazzercise, which she pursued with enthusiasm amidst her busy schedule in Hawaii.
Upon relocating to Las Vegas in 1992, Hattie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in occasional visits to the slot machines, indulged in her passion for reading, particularly relishing her monthly People magazine to stay abreast of celebrity news. Hattie's sharp mind found solace in crossword and word search puzzles, a pastime she enjoyed with zest.
Throughout her career, Hattie dedicated herself to Brewer Chemical in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she worked diligently until her well-deserved retirement. Her move to Las Vegas marked a new chapter filled with cherished moments and fond memories.
Hattie is survived by her beloved God Children and Caregivers, Paul Dominic Lopez and June Medeiros, along with her niece, Doreen Rodrigues. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Hattie's presence is deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished.
