It is with great sadness to hear about the passing away of Helen. My sincere and wholehearted Condolences to Candy and the whole Mendez Ohana. May the Lord provide the whole family the strength they needed most during this time of grief and sorrow . I first met Helen at our Music Choir Group at St. John Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani in 2016. It was a blessing to meet her at that time as I was preparing for my 70th Birthday celebration. Being new to Mililani coming from Southern California, I was looking for Hula dancers to perform at my 70th birthday celebration and long behold I was able to find out that her daughter Candy is a Hula Instructor. Through Helen’s thoughtfulness, sincerity, love, and friendship, I was able to get her daughter’s Halau to perform Hula providing not only an excellent ALOHA spirit but also spirituality and making people dance with their hearts and making them smile during the celebration. To make it more memorable it was through Helen that made me learn how to dance Hula with all my heart and soul, and to the best of my ability, under her daughter Candy’s Hula inspirational and excellent teachings. Thank you so much Helen. Through your friendship, love, encouragement, inspiration and wisdom, I will never forget you. May your soul REST IN PEACE ETERNALLY IN HEAVEN ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™
