In Loving Memory of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Herbert Caspelich November 14, 1942 – September 1, 2025
Today we honor the life of a man whose quiet strength spoke louder than words. Herbert Caspelich was not only a devoted husband, father, and grandfather—he was a patriot who served his country with unwavering dedication for over three decades. As a Vietnam Veteran and Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the U.S. Army, Herbert embodied honor, discipline, and humility. His service didn’t end with retirement; he continued to support the mission as a GS-13 Logistics and Linguist Officer, proving that duty was not just a chapter in his life—it was the theme.
To his beloved Wilhelmina, his partner of 60 years, and to his children Herbert Jr. and Johanna, he was a pillar of love and wisdom. To Noah and Alyssa, he was a gentle guide and a source of pride. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the quiet courage he carried through life.
Though he has departed, his spirit remains—etched in the hearts of those who knew him, and in the flag he so faithfully served. We salute you, Chief. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your love.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — A timeless verse that reflects Herbert’s courage and steadfastness throughout his military journey2.
