We have been blessed as a family to have known Howard for over 20 years.  He has known our boys since they were little babies. It was so remarkable to see how much energy he had each day and was always working so hard around the house from morning to night, even into his late 80's. Howard was a very kind man that loved to serve others. We miss both Tomayo and Howard so very much but are at peace knowing they are both together with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven for Eternity.  Looking forward to the day when we will all be reunited once again.  (2 Timothy 4:7-8) "I have fought the  good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing".  Aloha Howard, til we meet again....
I only met Howard once but it was a pleasure! I am Clinton Furuya's son-in-law. We visited Howard at his house. Clint had recently taken me to Shirokiya. I tried Ume Musubi and really liked it. Clint mentioned this to Howard. Howard told me that his wife Tomeyo used to make Musubi for him. He then gave me a mold that his wife used to use to press the rice into the right shape. I still use it and always think of Howard! I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. Even though I only met him once, I talk to Clint multiple times a week. "Uncle Howard" is frequently and fondly mentioned.
