Isabella Acosta Obituary
Isabella Cabato Acosta, 95, of Pearl City, passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. Francis Hospice, Nuuanu, on October 14, 2024. Born on July 8, 1929 in Olowalu, Maui. Moved and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii with her father Hermenigildo Cabato, brother Arcadio (Cajo), and sister, Julia Hard. Graduate Class of 1948 Waipahu High School. Her journey in life began when she married surviving husband, Lorito Lastimado Acosta, on October 6, 1951 for 73 years of milestones. She was employed and retired from Foodland from 23 Sept 1958 to 26 Aug. 1991.
She is survived by sons, Melvin, Calvin (Grethia), Curtis, and daughter Lori Ann (Lee Domonic) Gorion. She is preceded in death by Sister Julia Hard, Brother Arcadio Cabato, half-brother/half-sister Joaquin Domingo, and Carol Thompson. Surviving half-brothers and half-sisters, respectfully, Mauricio Cadiam, Fely Mortel, Cynthia (Edwin) Nishijo, Herman Cadiam, and Linda ( Kauwila) Mahi, Stepmother Mauricia (Mary) Cabato, Herminigildo (Lisa) Cabato Jr., Marlene (Steven) Cabato-Machado, and Thelma (Bobby) Cadiz. Isabella has 11-Grandchildren and 29-Great-Grandchildren.
Her Celebration of Life will be on Friday, 24 January 2025 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1525 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City HI 96782. Visitation from 9:30am to 11:00am church services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will take place at 12:30pm at Mililani Memorial Park, Ka Uka Blvd, Waipahu, HI 96797.
