Jaime Alfredo Sagucio's Obituary
Jaime Sagucio Obituary
Jaime Alfredo Sagucio, affectionately known as Jimmy or Jim to his loved ones and friends, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, in Mililani, Hawaii surrounded by family. He was 82 years old. Jimmy was born on August 16, 1942, in Olaa on the Big Island to Florentino and Martina Sagucio (both deceased).
Jimmy, his parents, and sisters (Marcela, Pacita, and Virginia) moved to Waialua, Oahu in 1946. He attended St. Michael's School and was a National Honor Society graduate of Waialua High School in 1960. He went on to pursue higher education, earning a Bachelor's in Finance & Business from the University of Oregon. In 1986, he received his Certified Public Accountant License. A few years later, he earned a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Jimmy was professional and diligent in his professional life. He served four years in the Air Force then embarked on a successful career in which he excelled in various roles in accounting. His expertise in finance was sought after, and he generously shared his knowledge as a tax preparer to many families and friends.
Jimmy's personal life was anchored by his loving wife of 49 years, Estrelita Sagucio, and their daughter Sheryl Bactista and her husband Cheston; and their son Darrell Sagucio and his wife Kendra. He was a brother to Marcela Calio (deceased), Pacita Sagucio, Dennis Sagucio (Marissa), Virginia Seymour, Josephine Kubiak, Gloria Butterworth, and Rosinda Kite (Skip). As a grandfather, he cherished every moment with his grandchildren Brennen, Breanna-Leigh, Breylyn-May, Breslen-Lorraine, Dante, Brexton, and Kairo. His extended family of many nephews and nieces also held a special place in his heart.
Outside of work, he enjoyed keeping active. He was an avid stamp collector and loved spending time in his garden. He was excited to attend his grandchildren’s baseball games, soccer games, and dance recitals. He was also a loyal fan of the Dodgers and the University of Hawaii Volleyball team. His dedication to fitness was shown by his 32-year participation in the Great Aloha Run. Jimmy also looked forward to traveling to Las Vegas every year to spend time with his son Darrell and his family.
Those who knew Jimmy best would describe him as intelligent, generous, kind, humble, and quiet. His legacy is not just in the achievements he earned but in the countless lives he touched with his wisdom, compassion, and warmth. Jimmy's presence was a gift, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
