JOHN C. COOK JR, 71 of Wai’anae, Hawai'i, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 13, 2019. Born in Pitts, GA, John served in the US Marine Corps, enabling him to come to Hawai’i, meet his wife (Yvonne, now deceased) and make his home in Wai’anae Valley. He retired from the University of Hawai’i @ Manoa in 2014, after 39 years of service. He is survived and loved by his brother Charles Cook and daughters Myrtle Mokiao (Andy), Alean Cook-Palmer (Kevin) & Denise Bartimus (Jason). John, fondly known as “Papa” had 5 grandchildren Randy, Brandon, Ashley, Alexis, & Jace and 7 great-grandchildren, all who will miss him dearly.
The family invites you to join them in his Celebration of Life services on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Mililani Memorial Park - Mauka Chapel. Visitation & viewing will be from 5-6pm and family memorial program at 6pm. Aloha attire, bring a sweater or jacket. Final Salute with Military Funeral Honors will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019, 11am at the Hawai’i State Veteran’s Cemetery in Kaneohe.
