Jon Tokuhara Obituary
Jon Satoshi Tokuhara, 47, of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away on January 13, 2022. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He is survived by his mother, Lilly Y. Tokuhara, sister Sissy Lee Tokuhara Amodo, brother-in-law Dave Amodo, and nephews Matthew and Elliott.
He is preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Tokuhara.
A small businessperson in Waipahu for nearly 19 years, Jon owned and operated Tokuhara Acupuncture & Healthcare. He was a proud graduate of Waipahu High School, University of Portland and Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where he earned a masters’ degree in Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Jon was an athlete and waterman. Growing up he played judo, baseball, volleyball and rugby. While living in Portland, OR he was an avid snowboarder and rock climber. He loved everything about the ocean, including fishing, surfing and paddling. In August 2021, he solo paddled the challenging Kaiwi Channel, an accomplishment he and his family and friends were proud of.
Service will be held on March 3, 2022 at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary - Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 4:30PM; Memorial service at 6:00PM.
