Joseph Hoopai, Sr. Obituary
JOSEPH NAHINU HOOPAI, SR., from Waialua, Oahu passed away suddenly at the age of 84. He was a pure blooded Hawaiian, born on November 17, 1933 in Ulaino, Hana, Maui. A United State Marine veteran and a retired Sandblaster from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 71, Joseph will be fondly remembered for his willingness to serve people, unbridled love for his family, and tremendous sense of humor.
His memory and impact will be treasured by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Silva Hoopai and six children, Cheryl (Randall) Hoopai, David (Brenda) Hoopai, Joseph (Laureen) Hoopai Jr., Milton (Joslyn) Hoopai, Randall (Kehau) Hoopai, and Carolyn (Steven) Murphy. He will also be lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, keiki hanai, and other ‘ohana.
Visitation will be 9:00 am Friday April 13, 2018 at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary's Mauka Chapel followed by funeral service at 11:00 am. Please join us for lunch following the service. Interment will be 2:00 pm Friday April 13, 2018 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery (45-349 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744).
