Joseph “Joe/Joeman” Wayne Yockman, age 82, born and raised on the island of Oahu and longtime resident of Ewa Beach, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Joe retired from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard after 30 years of civil service working in the foundry.
Joe enjoyed the island life with his family and friends. His hobbies included antique cars, football, baseball, fishing, and scuba diving, but his main passion was bowling. Joe was the head coach and coordinator of the Ewa Junior Bowlers program during the 1980s to the early 1990s.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Elda Yockman; brother: Edward Yockman, Jr.; sisters: Elaine Yockman Masterman, Evalani “Nana” Yockman, and Erainer Yockman. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Judy Ann Yockman; his children: Jody (Wayne) Bung, Jeri (Enrique) Ortiz, Jann McMillan, and Joseph (Jasmine) Yockman, Jr. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Cecil, Jesica (Cory Baber) Turner, David (Stephanie) Turner, Anthony (Krystal) McMillan, Keeley McMillan, Shaianne, Janae, and Jayna Yockman and Landen Iwamoto. Great grandchildren: August & Khloe McMillan, and Charlotte Cecil. Brothers: Eric Yockman and Elvan (Susan) Yockman. Sisters: Edwina (Willy) Smith, Elvia (Dennis) Kantzer and Eileen (Samuel) Eddleman and many other relatives and friends.
Joe’s final wish was for an immediate family only viewing that was held at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary on March 28, 2024. The family appreciates all the kind and comforting expressions of love and support. Joe will be forever remembered and forever missed!
