Just found out. The Miller's were Manungs neighbors for years until we moved to the mainland. I called to check on her and always went to see her when I visited Hawaii. She was an amazing woman to me and my family. RIP beautiful lady.Helen Miller
Aloha Clever, this is cuz Puanani. I use to stay with Aunty when my mom n dad went to work. Or uncle n my dad worked overseas. How you doing. My husband n adult children all move to Kona after. my youngest daughter move to Kona n I went to, leaving husband n my son on Maui. My daughter had a small child, n needed to care for, while she went to work. How you doing? Later my hold family move to Kona. N, my youngest move to Seattle, Management position. I’m so hurt knowing you pass away. I was to late visiting you before your passing. Mahalo plenty Aunty Josie for caring for me when my mom n dad was working n my dad n Uncle Earl were working oversea. I’m so great full and going to miss you Aunty. I came to Oahu to visit you n I had a feeling something was not right. I went back to Kona n search the internet. I’ll alway will LOVE 😘 U, Aunty as much as my mom too. Now, our parents are all together.

Aloha Liz, this is cuz, Puanani (Makali’i) Knight. I went to Oahu to visit your mom, see how she was doing or anything she needed. Plus went to visit my husband parents at Punch Bowl. I’m very said to notice something was wrong. No dog barking, I assume maybe some one pick her up to go shopping. My heart n mind telling me something was not right it was empty at her home. No dog barking, I’m going to miss your mom, my Aunty. very much. She was my second mom that I would visit when I’m in Oahu. I made sure when I’m on Oahu to visit Aunty Josie. Condolence Lola Jo.. Im very sorry I didn’t make an effort to come and visit you. But you’ve always been in my mind.. we have shared so much memories a lady like you even though very strict but has a kind heart. Thank you for everything Lola Josephine.
She was a lovely and kind Lady. She will surely be missed. We always sent her a Chrisrmas card every year by mail. Then always follow up with a phone call. We always chatted for at least a hour or more..
My love and understanding of Josie came when Liz and I got engaged and I was leaving for college and Josie told Liz it was ok for me to mess around because thats what men have to do. Liz did not agree.
