Kevin Haruo Shinkawa's Obituary
Kevin Shinkawa Obituary
Kevin Hauro Shinkawa was born on April 14, 1955 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the middle child of Terry and Gladys Shinkawa. Kevin grew up in Alewa Heights, first going to Maemae Elementary School, then to Kawananakoa Intermediate, and finally McKinley High School. Kevin’s recollections of his childhood include playing with his siblings, Cy and Jill in the neighborhoods in and around Honolulu.
Kevin was a family man. He spent years helping provide for his family and making sure they were comfortable and cared for. He loved the board games that his daughters introduced to him. He would spend hours on the internet painstakingly looking up videos on how to play games that sounded interesting or looked beautiful. Once he learned how to play these games, he would bring his family to the table and enthusiastically show what he had learned. He loved art and drawing, and was talented with sketching.
Kevin passed peacefully on November 11, 2023, surrounded by family, and in the home he wanted to return to after some time in the hospital. To the very end, he worried about his family and his friends, constantly reassuring them that he was fine, and that everything was going to be okay. He wanted everyone to know that he loved them.
