Kimiko Kamisato, 100 years old, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023 at a care home in Aiea.
She was born in Halawa-Ewa, Oahu on August 17, 1922 to Taro and Kame (Inafuku) Takushi. She was the eldest of nine children (6 boys and 3 girls). Lilly Tokuhara is the only surviving sibling.
She was married to Isamu Kamisato (deceased). They had five children (3 boys and 2 girls). Daniel Kamisato, Shirley Yuu, and Lynn Kamisato who are deceased. She is survived by her sons Lawrence and Karl (Avis) Kamisato. Five Grandchildren: Wesley (Rose) Yuu, Jayson (Shelby) Yuu, Kayla, Brad and Chad. Three great grandchildren: Ian, Kathryn and Jaycob.
She loved going to Las Vegas (playing the slot machines) and doing puzzle books. Whenever someone asked her to sing, she wouldn’t hesitate, singing (acapella).
In September 2015, she entered a care home in Aiea. The family is extremely thankful to Loreen Troxel and the other care givers for their tireless and compassionate care of Kimiko for over seven years. Taking her holoholo (doctor appt, swap meet, beach, shopping, etc.) and for having a karaoke machine.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:15 pm with service to follow at 6:00 pm.
