Kimiko Takamiya's Obituary
Kimiko Takamiya passed away on October 29, 2025. She was a devoted mom as well as a doting and deeply beloved grandmother whose life was centered around love, laughter, and family.
Kimiko lovingly cared for all her grandchildren, nurturing them with patience, warmth, and unwavering attention. Always creative, she had a love of origami, ikebana, paranku dance and anything else that kept her hands busy. Teaching was one of her greatest passions, and she took pride in educating students of all ages, always with kindness, humor, and enthusiasm.
She was always willing to share a story or listen to one. Kimi loved a good laugh even if it meant laughing at herself. Her open heart and genuine interest in others made her presence both comforting and unforgettable.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yasuo Takamiya.
Survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Cynthia & James Low, Lynn & Paul Sialana, and Sylvia & Greg Lohr; her grandchildren Nico Low, Micah (Emree) Sialana, lan Sialana, Zoe Sialana, Matthew Lohr, and Alana Lohr; and her great-grandson Milo Sialana.
A celebration of life service will be held on January 12 at Mililani Mortuary, Downtown. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. Aloha attire.
