La Paz Vaquilar Peneyra

La Paz Vaquilar Peneyra was born on August 3, 1924, in Makaweli, Kaua‘i, and lived a long, meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and resilience. On November 5, 2025, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Pedro Peneyra, and a loving mother to their four children: Alexander, Belinda, Charles, and David. Known for her quiet strength and unwavering dedication, La Paz remained strong in spirit and heart throughout her life and until the very end.
La Paz was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Peneyra; her brother Tranquilio, her sister, Melchora "Menching" Aldanese; her sons, Charles and David "Jay" Peneyra; and her grandchildren, Vince Peneyra and Jehdieah Rodriguez. At the time of her passing, she was survived by her sister, Revelina "Belen" Pablo, who later joined her in heaven on December 30, 2025. She is survived by her son, Alexander Peneyra; her daughter, Belinda Makela; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy spanning five generations and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services and burial will be held on Monday, January 19, at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m.
