Aloha to the entire Gascon family. Our hearts and spirits are remembering the precious life of Uncle Larry. For me... he always treated me with a sense of sincerity, with warmth and kindness. Like I was one of his nephews or something. I see pictures of Uncle Larry and my dad together. Looking into their eyes, I believe he was my dad's only best friend. It was also because of Aunty Tina and my mom Yoshiko for having spent many wonderful moments in time together... laughing, crying and growing wiser. Uncle Larry and aunty Tina were such beautiful people to me. Your entire family is very blessed to have such a man as the head of the family. Overcoming hardships one after another. Some big. Some small. Carrying so much on his broad shoulders after the passing of his lifetime partner. You couldn't tell at first how strong uncle Larry was in his humble, calm and bubbly demeanor and charm. But when I see him in my minds eye, I can remember how he projected that onto me. He did so with his eyes, the sound of his raspy voice, his laugh and the smell of his cologne. I was honored to see him during my dad's birthday dinner along with Larryboy. One more time the "two buddy's" shared some time reminiscing together. And it seemed like the past became the present again and just continued throughout the dinner. In seeing them together I felt the true warmth of family again in my heart. That dear and precious moment will remain in my heart for as long as I can breath. To live a life for others is uncovering true happiness I feel. Your father, my one and only uncle Larry, has brought happiness to my heart in this lifetime and I have never forgotten his caring and simple blessings onto me. I am truly grateful for meeting and knowing Uncle Larry even for a short while. May he be happy again with his love in Heaven. On behalf of my brothers and dad... and to the entire Gascon family... our condolences for your loss of a precious life. No matter how we are able to show it... we love you and miss you uncle Larry!
