Lawrence “Larry” Kuranaka
June 28, 1938 - May 22, 2022
Beloved husband, father, grandfather
Survived by wife Clara; daughters Gail (Brian) Ichida and Dr. Tracy Kuranaka; granddaughters Stayzia Ichida and Malia Worthen; sister Janet (Felipe) Albios. Adored by pets Brownie and Mac.
Preceded in death by grandson Tyson Ichida and sister Nancy Kokubun.
Avid golfer, fisherman, gardener, and craps shooter! As an electrical engineer for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard for 29+ years, he traveled all over the world. After retiring, he worked his dream job at various golf courses on the island.
His legacy lives on through inspiration, hope and strength that he gave to family and friends.
Don't just live. Make life worth living.
In his own words, “Don’t be sad for me. I accomplished everything I wanted and have no regrets. Enjoy every day and be thankful. Don't waste a day! Live life with gusto! Smile!"
He is gone but never forgotten. He lives forever in our hearts.
Interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Private services were held on July 19, 2022.
