Lester, you left us way too soon! Having worked with you for 20+ years, it just feels like you would always be around. I will miss bumping in to you around town; reminiscing over the dozens of work trips we traveled together; and how you were always the one that knew what was the most unique and interesting things to see. I am sure you are exploring the heavens now and finding the most interesting places to see. Enjoy the heavens Lester. Until we meet again.
My condolences we at the 50th reunion for Waipahu grads do miss him. Glenn and I, Early were good friends with him through out High School. I had classes with him even during summer school and after high school regular hours we took a computer class together at Leeward Community College. The three of us always played basketball together as part of a team of pickup game at the local Pearl City recreation parks. I remember a time when we were supposed to meet up with his brother at Pearl City area waterfall. We took the wrong trail marker path and ended up deep into the valley. Climb up to a ridge to see where we were and saw the sun was getting close to setting behind the other mountain ridge. Came back down and followed the stream because the trees blocked the sun and later the full moon and stars. I lead and Lester keep back several feet to keep on the trail when I got off because of visibility. I would have walked off the fall if not for the full moon. Once we got to the waterfall it was better visibility and a lot easier to get out of the valley. We got out of the hiking trail around 9:00 pm. We both found out that firemen were looking for us and quit just before both of us got to the waterfall.
