Leutu Tuaolo Lemoe's Obituary
Ms. Leutu Tuaolo Lemoe, 68, of Waipahu, Hawaii was peacefully called home on May 31, 2026 at Queen's Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Born March 22, 1958 in Pago Pago, American Samoa, she was the second to the youngest child of Tuaolo Lemoe and Tilaima Aiumu. Leutu attended Pago Pago Elementary and then Samoana High School, graduating Class of 1977 Sharks. She received an American Samoa Government scholarship to Lamar Community College in Colorado and later continued at American Samoa Community College, earning an Associate of Arts Degree.
Leutu was a quiet woman of immeasurable strength. Despite enduring lifelong health challenges and later being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, she was resilient. She faced adversity with grace and never let difficult circumstances affect her unshakeable spirit and joy for life.
Known for her humor and unforgettable "one-liners,” her wit cut like a knife into any dull conversation with laughter, or it stabbed you with truth. She had a one-liner for any situation. Often remembering our grand-aunties and recalling when we got in trouble, joking that the "truth hurts." She never held a grudge, letting any tension fade quickly. Though her words could sting, she was lighthearted and found joy in gathering with loved ones. She loved her family. Joking and laughing with her siblings and her beloved nieces and nephews brought her the most joy. She was always there, in all phases of life and celebrated every milestone and achievement continuing on to her great nieces and nephews.
Leutu loved music though "oldies" held a special place in her heart. Her passion for music naturally influenced her nieces and nephews too, leaving them with a fondness for all genres of music but especially the classics. She also enjoyed movies, so much that she often collected the best movie soundtracks. She loved to read. She always had a book in her hand. Leutu was an avid sports fan who loved all sports, especially football and the NFL. Her favorite team was the New York Giants during the "Manning Era."
She is survived by brothers Tuaolo Meko Aiumu (Moana) and Tinitali Aiumu (Leone); sisters Tato’i Ala, Fialupe Tafaoa, Fitimalo Aiumu, Ilalia Manuma, Ivy Taufa’asau, Eseta I’amanu, Tifatifa Aiumu; and many generations of nieces and nephews whom she raised as her own and had a big influence in their lives. She was preceded in death by her Parents, brothers Lemoe Aiumu Jr. and Joseph Lino Stowers, and sister Uisaina Manumaleuna.
A dearly loved daughter, sister, and aunt, Leutu leaves a legacy of resilience and unconditional love. Her memory will be cherished by siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who knew her. We take comfort knowing she is now at peace, after her long and courageous battle, awaiting her Lord and Savior.
A memorial service to honor Leutu’s life will be held on July 3, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park, Downtown Chapel (20 S Kukui Street). Please join us as we remember and celebrate her life.
