With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Lorain Jane Kekaula on January 25, 2025. Born on October 11, 1957 in the Philippines. Lorain was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was known for her Kindness, strength, and the deep love she held for her family.
Lorain was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chris Kekaula. She is survived by her loving children, Windy Barnayha, Kricille LaSorba, Christine Jardine, Kili Kekaula, Bryant Barnayha Jr., Rondie Barnayha, and Alvin Bautista.
She was a cherished grandmother to Reginaleejane Barnayha, Kawehilani Barnayha-Gatewood, Sayrahlynn Boswell-Barnayha, Makela Loleina Boswell-Barnayha, Bryson Boswell-Barnayha, Kameron Kekaula, Kamai Gatewood, Kenson George III, Kanoah Jury, Kelii George, Kanoah Jury, Kekoa George, Kekai George, Lee-j Gatewood, Rondie Barnayha Keawe, Austin Medeiros, Seth Medeiros, Nathan LaSorba Jr., Kailan LaSorba, Lilinoe Kauweloa-Pilialoha, Makoa Kekaula-VanGieson, and Kiarah Jardine.
Her legacy continues through her adored great grandchildren, Drayzelee Lorainjane P. Barnayha-Moniz, Drayzdyn G.K. Barnayha-Moniz, Kymani Gatewood Pila, Konner King Pila, Kamiyah Gatewood Pila, Carter Jaymes Angel-Gatewood, Weston Oliveira-Gatewood, Leela Leilehua Puanani Gatewood, and Khloe-Rae Medeiros-Tiogangco.
Lorain was a beloved daughter to Regina Bautista and June Dacuya and a dear sister to Eddie Bautista, Edgardo Sanchez, and Wilfredo Dacuya.
She will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 5:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park Road at Ka Uka Blvd, Waipahu, HI 96797, Mauka Chapel.
Burial will take place on Thursday, March 6, at 10:30 am at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
