Lorene Kauilani Hatsuko Uehara (Ashimine)'s Obituary
Lorene Kauilani Hatsuko Uehara (Ashimine) 72, of Mililani died on February 9, 2026 in Kailua. Lorene was born on October 10, 1953 in Honolulu and was raised in Kaneohe and North Kohala.
She was a boarder and graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in 1971. She was a personal banker at First Hawaiian Bank for 47 years, retiring in October 2018.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents Henry Ashimine, Edna “Ella” Francisco, and Eddie “Pogo” Francisco; husband, Earl Uehara; granddaughter L. Mahealani Malczon.
She is survived by her two children, R. Hi’ilei (Conrad) Nicolas, and Michael Uehara; two grandchildren, B. La’akea Malczon and M. Hāli’ilehua Nicolas; four siblings, Michael Ashimine, Kyle Ashimine, Robin (Leslie) Ashimine, and Kimberly Ashimine.
