LORENZO MONCES RABANAL

Lorenzo Monces Rabanal, affectionately known as Lorenzo to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, in Kapolei, Hawaii. Born on August 10, 1936, in Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, Lorenzo’s life was marked by his loving nature, generosity, and remarkable zest for life that touched everyone he knew.
Lorenzo was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dominga Blas Rabanal, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. His legacy continues through his children, Ceasar (Gina) Rabanal, Ernesto (Ofelia) Rabanal, and Shirley (Nelson) Hernando. He was proud and doting grandfather to Shaundy, Arianne, Chelsea Lei, Beloved Nelson Jr., Shanelle, and Brandon. A great- grandfather to Blaizden Hernando. His love and guidance also extended to his brothers, Pastor Balbino Rabanal and Isabelo Rabanal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who looked to him as a pillar of strength and wisdom.
Lorenzo’s pursuit of education led him to study Accounting at Harvadian Colleges in Davao City, Philippines, a discipline that served him well in his meticulous and diligent career. He dedicated many years of service as a supervisor for Hawaiian Tuna Packers, Ice Manufacturing Company, where his leadership and work ethic were greatly admired and respected.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lorenzo was a man of many interests and talents. He found solace and joy in planting, a hobby that allowed him to cultivate not just plants but also the growth and nurturing of his family. His hands were skilled in fixing cars, a testament to his practical and resourceful nature. Lorenzo was an avid reader, often found with a newspaper or the midweek in hand, staying informed about the world around him.
Cooking was another of Lorenzo’s passions, and he loved nothing more than prepare meals for his family. The kitchen was place of togetherness and celebration, and his culinary creations were the centerpiece of many joyful gatherings. His grandchildren, in particular, will fondly remember the love that he poured into every dish he made for them.
Lorenzo’s character was the embodiment of love, kindness, and generosity. These words are not merely descriptions but the very principles by which he lived his life. He gave selflessly, whether it was his time, his knowledge, or his warm, comforting presence. His love knew bounds, and he was a beacon of kindness in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand and listening ear.
As we bid farewell to Lorenzo Monces Rabanal, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life full of purpose, joy, and an abundance of love.
