Magdalene (Madge) Garcia Andrade
Born: November 17, 1925, Kealakekua on the Big Island of Hawaii
Passed Away: February 15, 2024, Vacaville, California
Parents are Andres Tangil Garcia and Juana Mamac
Preceding her in death are her parents Andres Tangil Garcia of Aiea and Juana Mamac of the Philippines, her husband Bernabe F. Andrade Sr., daughter Bernadette Madge O’Keefe, sisters Mary Kuaana and Rebecca Lester, and brother Samuel Garcia.
Surviving her are five children Richard Alan Andrade, Andrea Joan Garcia, Rebecca Andrade Parker, Cynthia Sue Andrade and Bernabe F. Andrade Jr.
Descendants include 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She graduated from Farrington High School and married Bernabe Sr. on January 17, 1943. Madge held jobs as a car-hop in Manoa, waitress at SavMor Drugs at Kalihi Shopping Center, and a janitorial position with the public school system at Radford High School. She decided to attend night school at Honolulu Community College and took up key punching. Upon obtaining her degree, she applied for and got the position as a keypuncher at Hickam Air Force Base, a Federal Civil Service entry level position. She later became a Computer Operator and retired from that position.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel.
Visitation begins at 10:30 am; and service 11:30 am.
Burial 1:30 pm at Mililani Memorial park Cemetery.
