Makana Lacar Obituary
Makana Kalanipomaika’i Lacar was a 2021 graduate of Waialua High and Intermediate School. An adventurous boy who enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with his family and friends, playing his ukulele, participating in sports, and making others laugh.
Makana was born on December 30th, 2003, at Wahiawa General Hospital. After enduring a three-year battle of cancer with resilience, great fortitude, and a strong faith in the Lord, on September 11, 2021, our Mighty Warrior closed his eyes here on earth, and opened them in Heaven. He was surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Waialua. Makana was 17 years old.
Makana is survived by parents Kamaki and Tiare Lacar, sister Terina (Blayne) Shimoda, brothers Kamaki Boy and Likeke Lacar, honorary brothers Matthew Asano and Jarius Hoopai-Gacusana, paternal grandparents Richard “Grampy” and Maize “Grammy” Lacar. Maternal grandparents Hauoli “Papa” and Vina “Nana” Lee, numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be arranged by the family of Makana Lacar. Date to be determined.
