Malaetele L. (Leaeno) Soliai's Obituary
Malaetele Leaeno Soliai was born on May 21st, 1934 in the village of Fagalii, American Samoa. Her late father was Elia Savali Leaeno of Fagalii/Matu?u, American Samoa and her Late mother was Laalaai Malaulu Finauvale Leaeno of Faleasao, Manu?a/Nu?uli, American Samoa. Malaetele was the 2nd youngest of 11 siblings. Mrs. Soliai was granted her angel wings on August 23rd, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had inspired in big and small ways throughout her memorable life. Those who knew Mrs. Soliai were touched by her and understood that the quality for her existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which one lives. Mrs. Soliai was active in her community where she received numerous recognitions and acknowledgments for her volunteer services at the Senior Companion Program for about 15 years. Mrs. Soliai attended Kapiolani Community College to receive certifications to offer herself more opportunities to serve within her community. Mrs. Soliai was filled with so much courage and hope to remind us of the preciousness of life. She was crowned Dancing Queen at the Senior Companion Program in 2006 as she loved to dance. She attended weekly senior exercise classes that she loved attending. Malaetele Soliai was survived by her children Aitu Soliai, Poulima Lagafuaina, Mafutaga Moevao, Ilaisa Samoa, Moevao Soliai, Gafoa Soliai, Ioane Soliai, Laalaai Tupua, Elizabeth Faumuina, Leisina Samoa, and numerous grandchildren (54) and great-grandchildren (60) Mrs. Soliai?s Celebration of Life will be held October 4, 2017 at 9am at the Millilani Memorial Park & Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Mililani Memorial Park Road at Ka Uka Blvd. Waipahu, Hawaii 96797. Burial to follow at 11am at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary.
