Marilou was born in Pangasinan, Philippines on May 5, 1950 and spent the majority of her adult life in Oahu, Hawaii. She passed away on July 10, 2025.
She lived a blessed, happy life and was survived by: her children Michael and Shannon Bruno, Ryan Bruno and Ren Rola, Jefferson and Ashley Bruno, Rabelle Bruno and Justin Ermitanio, Edward and Karen Bruno, Rose and Craig Rutherford, Janet and Bob Cordova, Julius and Geri Bruno, Llova and Michael Shigemoto, Cedric and Lori Bruno, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
If one could describe Marilou in three words, it would be Faith, Family, and Food. Marilou was known by family, friends, and the community for her amazing Filipino dishes. She was able to share her food and create fond memories with the community for many years through her restaurant, named Marilou’s Restaurant & Catering Service. Marilou’s Restaurant was known for amazing food and generous portions. Marilou loved spending time with friends and family, and always made sure there was plenty of food and laughter at gatherings. Marilou was Faithful to God, kind, and generous to those around her. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:00pm and service at 6:00pm.
