Masako Nishimura Obituary
Masako Nishimura, age 102, of Wahiawa, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1st, 2021. She was born on June 28th, 1919 in Yamaguchi, Japan where she lived until the age of 5. She graduated from Leilehua High School in 1937 and worked for Castner Store, which eventually became Ben Franklin Stores.
She is survived by her son Richard (Pamela), daughter Pearl (Jack Wiedlin), grandchildren Darin, Damon, and Sara, and 9 great grandchildren. She loved sewing and sharing her quilts and crafts with her family and friends.
She was predeased by her husband of 52 years, Buster Tatsumi, and grandson Steven. She is survived by her brother Junichi Kawamoto (Leila), sister Mary Matsumoto (Yoshio), sister-in-law Takeko Kawamoto, and many nieces and nephews. Masako was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed dearly, but her positive spirit will remain with all of us.
Private services will be held.
Masako's family is deeply grateful to her faithful caregiver Lynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission.
