Mildred Kibota Obituary
Mildred “Millie” Mitsuko Kibota, 83, from Pearl City passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Mildred was born in Kohala, Hawaii on August 1, 1939 to Shinbu and Kami Moromisato. She was valedictorian of Kohala High School Class of 1957 and earned an Education degree from University of Hawaii - Manoa. Mildred had an impactful teaching career and was an integral member of the founding staff at Moanalua High School where she established their counseling department.
She is survived by husband, Henry Kibota; brother, Shinkichi “Sonny” Moromisato (Carol); children, Richie Kibota (Lori), Robin Kibota (Sheri), Kirsten Dietrich (Doug) and grandchildren, Megan Kibota, Macey Chinen (Kerrick), Henry Dietrich, George Dietrich, Marina Kibota, Laleh Kibota and Zareen Kibota.
Millie will be most remembered for her dedication to teaching Hawaii’s youth, pride for her hometown of Kohala, closeness to her lifelong friends, and her unwavering love for her family.
Memorial services will be held at Mililani Mortuary - Mauka Chapel Friday, July 21, 2023. Visitation at 5:30pm, service at 6:30pm.
Mildred will be laid to rest at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial service at 9:30am on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
