Mildred Pualani Sylva, age 84, of Waianae, Hawaiʻi, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1941.
Mildred was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and matriarch whose life was rooted in family, strength, and love. She was known for her caring heart, resilience, and the deep pride she held for her ʻohana. Mildred’s presence brought comfort, laughter, and guidance to generations of family members who will forever cherish her memory.
She is survived by her beloved sisters: Emma (Nani), Maryann (Darlene), Arline (Honey Girl), Charmayne, Veronica (Vickie) Leioki-Mutch, Elizabeth (Ola), and Amelia Iese; her brother, George; and her sons: Clarence (Lani), Robert (Doreen), Jeff (Marlyn), Milton (Vanessa), Douglas (Tracy), Roland (Cheryl), and Cleason (Anuhea).
Mildred was blessed with a large and loving family, including twenty grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on March 1, 2026, at Mauka Chapel. Public viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial services will take place on March 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Mildred Pualani Sylva’s legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the love she freely gave. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
