Myrtle “Jackie” Miyako Kawamoto, 91, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2023. Jackie was born on September 20, 1931 in Paia, Maui, the 6th child of Monjuro and Sue (Shinoda) Miyauchi.
Jackie retired as an oriental goods buyer’s assistant for Dai’ei after many years. Jackie was predeceased by sister Nancy Yanagi, and brothers Tadao, Niro, Minoru “Balloon”, Frank Miyauchi. Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Shuichi “Shu” Kawamoto, in 2021.
She is survived by daughter, Leslynne (Donald - deceased) Perry; son, Keith (Jill) Kawamoto; grandchildren: Rebecca (Troy) Maeda, Alexander Kawamoto, Chase Perry; great granddaughter, Zuki Maeda; and dog, Mika. She is also survived by sister-in-laws: Marian Kawamoto, Dorothy Kawamoto, and Amy Kawamoto, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
