Nadine Ululani Kila's Obituary
Nadine Kila Obituary
Nadine Ululani Kila was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 26, 1955. On December 23, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, God called her home to be with him in heaven. Nadine lived a life of service to God, and is now receiving the joy of her soul, seeing her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face. Born of Hawaiian, Chinese, Spanish and Filipino ancestry.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Yee, Sr. & May Hoomana, sisters Cecilia Pinero and Anna-Mae Yee (Kaluna’s biological mom).
A proud 1973 graduate of Nanakuli High School. She married Samuel H.K. Kila, III in 1986. Nadine worked several jobs as a secretary. She received her certificate of achievement from Leeward Community College (Accounting) in 1974, Cannons Business College (clerk stenographer) certificate in 1981, office operations and computer training certificate at Alu Like in 1991. Worked for Hawaiian Telcom, Waianae Comprehensive and United States Postal Service. She retired in 2014 due to illness.
In 1983 Nadine received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. It took a man of God, Pastor Elmer Leslie, Sr. who flew all the way from Corvallis, Oregon to come to Nadine’s mother’s home (they were having a cottage meeting) to tell her the truth about her life that needed to be corrected. She listened and obeyed God’s calling, gave up her old life, became born again and never looked back. Nadine helped her husband Samuel in the ministry as Youth Leaders, Youth Coordinators, Youth Pastors, Deacon & Deaconess, Sunday school teachers and Mother Pastor when Sam was ordained as a Senior Pastor.
Nadine & Sam have a hanai son, Kaluna Hoomana who came to live with them at age 12. God blessed them with the children they couldn’t have by having the opportunity to work with several youth groups at different churches. Jesus Merciful Mission, Waianae Assembly of God, Pacific Faith & United Gospel fellowships. Nadine loved all the youths that God allowed them to work with. She was a mother of them all and prayed that as they were blessed, they in turn will bless others by furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by husband of 37 years, Samuel Harry Kamakaia Kila III, hanai son Kaluna Hoomana, brothers Greg Kamai, Sr., Rowland (Millie) Yee and sister Shirleen Matthews; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 8:30 am; and service at 9:30 am. Committal Service 1:00 pm at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
