Nena Salazar Obituary
Nena Castillo Salazar, 85, of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away on October 23, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1938 in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
She worked as a Laboratory Analyst for the Hawaiian Sugar Planter’s Association (HSPA) for over 30 years. One of her favorite past times was singing. She alongside her sister Andrea (the Castillo sisters) won First Place in KAIM radio’s singing contest voted on by Ilocano listeners throughout Hawaii in 1961. In addition to singing, her past times included sewing, crocheting, and weaving. She was also a compassionate friend to many felines. A devoted wife, loving mother, loyal sister, she will be missed greatly.
She is survived by husband Edward Salazar; sons Rodney Salazar and Dr. Raymond Salazar; sister Andrea (Dominic) Salazar,
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at St. Joseph Chruch (94-675 Farrington Hwy., Waipahu, HI), Visitation begins at 10:00 am and service at 11:30 pm. Burial to follow at 1:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery.
