Pablo Pascual Bayang's Obituary
Pablo Bayang Obituary
Pablo Pascual Bayang, 96, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii passed away on November 26, 2021.
He was born on November 15, 1925 to the late Andres Salvador Bayang and the late Tiburcia Pascual Bayang. He was born and raised in Barangay Nalbo, Laoag City, Philippines and was the second child. He had two brothers, the late Celestino Pascual Bayang, who was the oldest, and the late Roman Pascual Bayan Sr., who was the youngest.
He emigrated to Hawaii on August 1, 1967, leaving behind his loving wife, two sons and three daughters. Two years later, his wife and children also emigrated to Hawaii. Three years after his family’s arrival, they were blessed to have their youngest and only Hawaii born child.
Pablo was a carpenter for most of his life. He started learning carpentry through an uncle at the mere age of 11 and had his own carpentry shop in the Philippines making and installing windows made of seashells. When he came to Hawaii, he worked for Honsador for about a year and then worked for Hawaiian Dredging, as a carpenter journeyman, until his retirement in 1989 at the age of 64. On June 6, 2018, he was given honorary lifetime membership with the Carpenter’s Union for completing 50 years of continuous membership. He enjoyed anything that had to do with carpentry. After his retirement, he continued to work part-time helping family and friends whenever they needed help to build or renovate their homes and at the same time also building his own home in Ewa Beach. Besides carpentry, he enjoyed gardening with his wife and enjoyed spending time with his family and attending most, if not all, of the grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. He remained active and kept up with the news using his own iPad until about two weeks prior to his passing.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 69 years, a loving and wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was also a loving and kind uncle to many. He died peacefully at home in Ewa Beach, Hawaii 11 days after his 96th birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Luisa Roque Bayang; children, Pepe (Sally) Bayang, Maty (John) Beasley, Cora (Eddie) Lastimosa, Manny (Angie) Bayang, Dee (Greg) Fuller, and Harold (Marie Rodriguez) Bayang; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild.
