Aunty Patsy was a gracious and loving woman. I remember when my mother came back to Boston from a visit in Hawaii with Aunty Patsy and Uncle Buzzy in the mid 1980s. My mother returned home and gave each of her daughters beautiful photo albums made by Aunty Patsy. I remember feeling so proud that someone thought to make me MY VERY OWN photo album. I filled it with pictures that I took myself. She didn't even know me and she made me feel special.
When I moved to Hawaii in 1991, I was a total haole, straight off the boat....didn't even know that it was rude to not hug and kiss my aunty and uncle when I first met them in their home in Makakilo. Despite my faux pas, Aunty went out of her way to welcome me and make me feel like part of their family. Aunty and Uncle even visited the big island and took me out to dinner. This extra effort made me feel like I could make a home in Hawaii, that I wasn't alone, it helped me get through that first year.
Aunty Patsy was a loving, generous person. She will be missed.
My sincere condolences,
your niece, Anne Champagne Anderson
