Paul Bactista, Sr. Obituary
Paul Pascual Bactista, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at Pali Momi Medical Center in the presence of his beloved family by his side. He was 70 years old. He was born on August 12, 1954 in Wahiawa to Pascual and Rosalinda Bactista (both deceased).
Paul is one of eleven children. He grew up in Whitmore and graduated from Leilehua High School in 1972. He started working during high school at the age of 14. After high school, he worked as an iron worker for 48 years being involved in the construction of several familiar buildings and landmarks in Hawaii. He finally retired from Associated Steel in August 2019 at the age of 65. Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt, dive, and archery to name a few.
Paul is survived by his wife Nanette of 28 years; 5 children – Paul Bactista Jr., Cheston (Sheryl) Bactista, Desmond Bactista, Tiffany Bactista, Ashley (Christia) Bactista; 11 grandchildren - Jonalyn, Jake (Thalia), Brennen, Breanna-Leigh, Tamia, Kiana, Breylyn-May, Breslen-Lorraine, Brexton, Kaleia, and Reese; brothers - Ernie (Jenny) Antonio, Arnold (Tessie) Bactista, Alvin Bactista, and Robin Bactista ; sisters - Laurie (Victor) Soriano and Valerie Ancheta; and sister in law - Carol Antonio; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters - Ann Randal and Roxanne “Cena” Philips; brothers - Robert Antonio and Gertulio Antonio; and brother in laws - Mel Ancheta and Jerry Philips.
